Do you lack intimacy in your marriage?\u00a0 This may cause your spouse to stumble.\u00a0 The bible tells us that husbands should be intimate with their wives and wives should be intimate with their husbands –\u00a0that it is our marital duty.\u00a0 It also says that deprivation of intimacy leads to temptation because we lack of self-control in this area.\u00a0 Today, there is so much talk about sexual addictions and unbiblical sexual behavior.\u00a0 It makes me wonder whether we are neglecting to fulfill our marital duty.\u00a0 It is normal to\u00a0have\u00a0sexual desires.\u00a0\u00a0But unfulfilled sexual desires can\u00a0lead to\u00a0the exercise of unhealthy and unbiblical\u00a0sexually behavior.\u00a0\u00a0We often get caught up in the busyness of life, even with noble activities.\u00a0 However, when this happens, sexual desires often become unfulfilled.\u00a0\u00a0This leads to an unhealthy lack of intimacy, which may encourage a spouse to seek fulfillment elsewhere.\u00a0 Two years ago, my wife and I attended a marriage conference presented by Gary Thomas, the author of\u00a0a renowned book entitled “Sacred Marriage<\/a>.”<\/em>\u00a0 Gary talked about the role intimacy plays in marriage.\u00a0 He\u00a0said that respected authorities\u00a0have indicated that if a husband and wife are experiencing sexual intimacy no more than once a month, it’s like having no sexual intimacy at all.\u00a0\u00a0 Our desire for sexual intimacy needs to be fulfilled.\u00a0 It’s the way God wired us.\u00a0 And there is just too much temptation outside the marriage to neglect this fundamental need.\u00a0\u00a0If you lack intimacy in your marriage,\u00a0it may cause your spouse to stumble.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
