Why do the wicked prosper?\u00a0 This is a question asked by many Christians, especially those who try to live godly lives, yet they struggle to make ends meet.\u00a0 The bible tells us that God blesses those who are obedient and curses those who are disobedient.\u00a0 But we can’t read this\u00a0in a vacuum.\u00a0 We have to read it in its proper context.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus assured us that Christians will endure persecution and suffering.\u00a0 He also taught us that we cannot serve two masters, God and money.\u00a0\u00a0We are cautioned\u00a0about storing up our treasures on earth for moths and rust to corrupt, or\u00a0thieves to break in and steal.\u00a0 Jesus set the tone for us when He sacrificed His place is heaven to live\u00a0the life of a pauper on earth, with no place to rest\u00a0His head.\u00a0 Certainly, God may make Christians prosperous, but He does not guarantee that He will bestow prosperity upon them.\u00a0 And it is clear that He causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain upon the righteous and the unrighteous<\/em>.\u00a0 I believe those who work hard will be rewarded according to their efforts.\u00a0\u00a0This is a basic biblical principal.\u00a0 I also believe in the adage “work smart”\u00a0– that is, that those who\u00a0use wisdom and work hard may reap a greater reward than those who lack wisdom, even if they likewise work hard.\u00a0 I believe this is the case whether you are godly or wicked.\u00a0 Remember that this physical life here on earth is a temporary life.\u00a0 Those who are saved will have eternal life, while the wicked who are without salvation, prosperous or not, will suffer the consequences of their sins.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
