When I was younger, I had what I believe were visions.\u00a0 I remember lying in bed one evening.\u00a0 As I was\u00a0drifting to sleep,\u00a0a small black spot formed on the ceiling.\u00a0 In the moonlit night, the spot began to grow or spread, like an oil spill.\u00a0 I do not know that significance of this but it wasn’t like a dream.\u00a0 It lasted only a short while and I awoke in a sweat.\u00a0 Shortly thereafter, I dozed off again.\u00a0 This time I was drifting, like a character in Charles Dickens’ novel “A Christmas Carol.”<\/em>\u00a0 That is to say, I was upright, leaning slightly forward in a direction of travel.\u00a0 And, yes, I was travelling.\u00a0 I was traveling above the ground along an old city street\u00a0lined with row houses, and everything was grey scale in color, like in a black and white television show from the 50s.\u00a0 For some reason, I was petrified.\u00a0 I was crying out for help.\u00a0 I nearly struck my mother when she awoke me.\u00a0 I\u00a0believe these were visions.\u00a0 Although\u00a0I do not know their meaning, I think they represented something spiritual, something having to do with spiritual conflict.\u00a0\u00a0Maybe something that\u00a0has not yet been revealed to me.\u00a0 I think that people have visions.\u00a0\u00a0God says that in the last days, “I will pour out my Sprit upon all people.\u00a0 Your sons and daughters will prophecy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.”\u00a0 I believe God uses visions and dreams to communicate with us.\u00a0 God did this throughout the Old and New Testaments.\u00a0 In the Old Testament, God used a vision to assure Abraham that he would be\u00a0the father of a great nation.\u00a0 It was in a vision that\u00a0Jacob wrestled with God.\u00a0 In a vision, God reveled to Joseph that one day his family would bow before him.\u00a0 The New Testament begins and ends with a dream and vision.\u00a0 Joseph would have divorced Mary\u00a0if God had not visited him in a dream and shared with him that Mary was carrying the Son of God.\u00a0 \u00a0The book Revelation is entirely based on a vision that John had while exiled in Patmos.\u00a0 The biblical accounts of characters whose biblical stories are told, who had (or interpreted)\u00a0dreams and visions, were very close in their walk with God.\u00a0 I believe that we still have visions today.\u00a0 I think God still\u00a0reveals things\u00a0to us through visions.\u00a0 However, we don’t often hear about visions anymore.\u00a0 Maybe it’s because we do not recognize them.\u00a0 Maybe it’s because our lives are so full of noise that we can’t see them for what God intended.\u00a0 Notwithstanding, I believe that we have visions today.\u00a0 Do you?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
