One of my wife’s friends gave a collection of DVDs to our kids for Christmas.\u00a0\u00a0The collection is entitled\u00a0“Passion Talk Series:\u00a0The Essential Collection<\/em><\/a>” by Louie Giglio.\u00a0 We always screen everything before we let the kids watch it.\u00a0 We read a review about it, watch it, or both.\u00a0\u00a0The reviews that we often read\u00a0are published by Dove Foundation<\/a>, Christianity Today<\/a>\u00a0and Crosswalk<\/a>.\u00a0 Anyway, getting back to the DVD collection, we watched one of the videos entitled “Indescribable.”\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0This\u00a0series apparently\u00a0stands up to\u00a0its name, Passion Talk<\/em>.\u00a0 In this video, Louie Giglio exudes passion for God.\u00a0 He uses astronomy to describe just how “indescribable” our God really is.\u00a0\u00a0 He describes the expanse of our universe, how it could only have been created by our mighty God, and how small we are in the universe.\u00a0 In fact, we are so small, in comparison to the universe; you can say that we are insignificant, but not insignificant to God, a God who is incomprehensible and unimaginable to us.\u00a0 I was impressed with Louie Giglio’s passion for God.\u00a0 I want some of that.\u00a0 I want to see it in others.\u00a0 I was talking to my wife this morning.\u00a0 I asked her to consider what it would be like if, in every state in the union, there would be at least one passion point, one place from which a passion for God could emanate.\u00a0 This is not to belittle or denigrate anything that churches or ministries are doing, but it just doesn’t seem like enough.\u00a0 Why aren’t we more passionate about our faith?\u00a0 Why isn’t God first over all of the junk?\u00a0 Why isn’t He our first love?\u00a0 It just makes me want to change my direction and my focus.\u00a0 That’s why I am doing this, writing these posts, to provoke others.\u00a0 I cannot be the only one who feels this way.\u00a0 God is a mighty God, and He deserves so much more than we are giving Him.\u00a0 We are giving Him our leftovers, that which is left over after our jobs, after our family, after ourselves.\u00a0 Sure, we may start our day off with a devotional and prayer, and we may think about God throughout the day.\u00a0 But really, doesn’t He deserve more than that?\u00a0 Doesn’t\u00a0God, the God of\u00a0the universe, deserve our all, not just what’s left over after we attend to all the junk, all the meaningless, temporal stuff?\u00a0 When are we going to face the fact that we\u00a0are shortchanging God?\u00a0 \u00a0Remember Ananias and Sapphira, who gave God less than He deserved?\u00a0 Are we doing the same thing?\u00a0 Aren’t we deceiving ourselves?\u00a0 Aren’t we deceiving God?\u00a0 When are we going to wake up and get real about our faith?\u00a0 Or, are we just going to continue in this pattern until\u00a0the Day of Judgment?\u00a0 Let’s get passionate about God!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
