When I think about bible characters, the ones who stick out the most in my mind are the characters who were truly favored by God.\u00a0 The bible refers to David as the apple in God’s eye.\u00a0 It says that David was a man after God’s heart.\u00a0 But David committed adultery with Bathsheba, tried to cover up her pregnancy, and when that failed, he had her husband killed.\u00a0\u00a0In other ways, David had some history of being disobedient to God.\u00a0 But aside from his sins, David loved God so much that God referred to him as a man after His own heart.\u00a0 And because of this, in spite of his sins, he was truly favored by God.\u00a0 Do you ever hear the voice of God, that still small voice, whispering to you, telling\u00a0you that are the apple in His eye?\u00a0 Even though I am a sinner, the worst of all sinners, I hear that voice.\u00a0 I hear God telling me that He favors me – I feel it in my being.\u00a0 It’s wonderful, and it’s a wonderful feeling to know that the God of the universe loves me so much,\u00a0He favors me.\u00a0\u00a0I am sure I am\u00a0not the only one that feels this way.\u00a0 But\u00a0how can God favor me and favor others just like He favors me?\u00a0 It seems like that would make me feel less favored by\u00a0God, less special\u00a0– that I’d have to share\u00a0this unique\u00a0affection of God with others.\u00a0 But I am reminded of an interview that I heard\u00a0on American Family Radio<\/a> some years ago.\u00a0\u00a0The interview was with\u00a0siblings who had recently lost their father.\u00a0\u00a0Throughout his life, he somehow made each\u00a0of his children feel special, like each of them was his most favored, as if each was an apple in his eye, as David was to God.\u00a0 If a mortal man can do this, an all-powerful God, who is not limited by space and time, can certainly do this.\u00a0 Each one of us can be the apple in God’s eye.\u00a0 Do you feel special in God’s sight?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
