He feared God and shunned evil.\u00a0 But God allowed him to suffer.\u00a0 He\u00a0lost everything, his\u00a0property, his family and his health.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 If Job was blameless and upright, and he feared the God and shunned evil, why did God allow him to suffer? Why didn&#8217;t God protect him?\u00a0 I admire my wife.\u00a0 She is a virtuous woman.\u00a0 Like Job, she loves and fears God, and deliberately avoids evil.\u00a0 But she too has suffered. Two years ago this month, we lost a child, Samantha Grace.\u00a0 It took us two years to conceive her.\u00a0 Then, my wife carried her for nine months, her full term.\u00a0 My wife earnestly prayed that we would conceive her, and diligently prayed every day during her pregnancy for her health and safety.\u00a0 Then,\u00a0just four days before her expected date, Samantha Grace went to be with the Lord.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Over the past two years, I have watched my wife suffer, mourning over the loss of Samantha.\u00a0 Words cannot describe her suffering.\u00a0 It is the worst thing that\u00a0I have ever witnessed.\u00a0 All we can do is ask why?\u00a0 But we hear a resounding silence, and there is no comfort for our loss.\u00a0 It is not for us to understand why God allows suffering.\u00a0\u00a0His ways are not our ways.\u00a0 His thoughts are not our thoughts.\u00a0 His foolishness is wiser than our wisdom.\u00a0 Maybe someday, the answer to this question will be revealed to us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why does God allow suffering?\u00a0 Job was blameless and upright.
