{"id":191,"date":"2014-12-30T12:25:20","date_gmt":"2014-12-30T17:25:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/christiansurvey.org\/?p=191"},"modified":"2015-01-02T21:09:53","modified_gmt":"2015-01-03T02:09:53","slug":"how-much-time-do-you-spend-on-your-marriage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christiansurvey.org\/?p=191","title":{"rendered":"How much time do you spend on your marriage?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Contrary to the evolving cultural push, marriage is a union between a man and a woman.\u00a0 It is not between two people of the same sex.\u00a0 In traditional marriage ceremonies, the two make vows to remain married.\u00a0 Often, these vows are broken and the marriage is dissolved.\u00a0 Marriage is not easy, living with the same person, until you die.\u00a0 That&#8217;s what you vow to do in a traditional marriage ceremony.\u00a0 And there is so much temptation that would wreak havoc in a marriage today.\u00a0 Many of these temptations have long existed, but today our culture sensationalizes and condones them.\u00a0 And, our priorities in a marriage often do not favor its longevity.\u00a0 For Christians, God should always come first.\u00a0\u00a0The husband and wife should always work towards maintaining their relationship with God, and in doing so, they will be drawn closer together.\u00a0 Then, the spouse should come first after\u00a0God, first before all else &#8211; the children,\u00a0vocations, domestic responsibilities, hobbies, recreation, before everything else.\u00a0 And, marriage is work, at least for many.\u00a0 Most people don&#8217;t see it this way.\u00a0 They spend more time perfecting their vocation or recreation than they spend on their marriage.\u00a0 Maybe that&#8217;s why so many marriages end in divorce.\u00a0 And then there is the old adage that the grass always appears to be greener on the other side, but most often, it is not, it&#8217;s just different grass.\u00a0 This upcoming year, make a resolution that you can keep.\u00a0 Spend more time on your marriage.\u00a0 Read some books about marriage.\u00a0 Some popular books among Christians include <em>&#8220;<a title=\"Love &amp;
