The bible says that God is the same yesterday, today and forever.\u00a0 His standards never change.\u00a0 Sin is sin.\u00a0 Unlike God, our standards have evolved.\u00a0\u00a0 There has always been sin but what was once unacceptable behavior in many instances in the past has now become acceptable.\u00a0 In our recent past, we were so much more wholesome than we are today.\u00a0 Over twenty years ago, I\u00a0had a friend who\u00a0had just returned from a mission trip, without access to television.\u00a0 He described\u00a0to me how much television had changed during the relatively short period of time that he was away.\u00a0 He indicated that our constant exposure to television had made us desensitized to the change.\u00a0 A few years later, when I was in a classroom environment, I heard God’s still small voice.\u00a0 He asked me to walk on the table tops before the rest of the class.\u00a0 He challenged me to explain how awkward that it looked for me to walk on the table tops, because I was the only one doing it.\u00a0 However, if others got up and did the same thing, it may become the norm, and over a period of time, it may become acceptable behavior.\u00a0 In other words, we would become desensitized to the behavior.\u00a0 We should examine ourselves, put ourselves under a microscope.\u00a0 From the moment we awake, we should consider our conduct, not according to the world’s standards, but according to God’s standards, standards that never change.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
